WHAT TO EXPECT

There are some headshot and lifestyle images on this page for reference. You can expect for me to give you specific directions on where to be and then I’ll talk you through what we are trying to convey in the particular shot (listening…taking notes…etc). For headshots, our plan is to capture you in three different scenarios during your headshot time (sitting on the steps, leaning against a wall, etc). The headshot will be focused on the upper half of your body, but your bottom half may show when we do the seated versions.

WHAT TO WEAR

Many (most!) of my clients like to send me a photo or two of what they are thinking they want to wear. Feel free to do this - I promise it happens all the time! Ph: 415-309-0571

  • Choose 1 outfit for your headshot + 1 change of shirt + jewelry for brand photos. Feel free to wear the same bottoms (jeans or slacks or whatever you typically wear). Dresses work well too.

  • Wear something that you feel COMFORTABLE in…if you feel stuffy, you’ll look stuffy. Select an outfit you would typically wear to see a client (business casual).

  • Practice sitting down in whatever blouse/top/dress you want to wear. When you sit, do the buttons pull at the chest? Does the dress come up shorter than you’d like when you sit? Keep these things in mind!

  • Plain is best…lots of stripes and patterns often take over the photo when really what we want to showcase is YOU.

  • Select jewelry that fits your style. If you love bold earrings and they are part of your personality, flaunt them! If something simple and modest is more your style, that is great too! The point of a headshot is to give someone a glimpse into who you are before you meet.
