Yesssss – Avery is here! After our super-fun maternity shoot at Land’s End, I was super-excited to meet the newest addition to the Lewis family…Avery! She is adorable, sweet, squishy and perfect.
Big brother Cooper was sweet-as-pie to Avery, as was evidence in the pictures! This first photo is one of my favorite newborn photos I’ve ever taken…ever! I just love the simplicity and colors that really let Avery shine…

Hubby Tim contacted me about three years ago with the intention of surprising his lovely wife with a photo shoot for their first child, Caroline. In six years, I have been hired by a total of six dads. Six. Total. So I actually remembered Tim from our interaction even though I didn’t end up photographing Caroline at the time! I was so touched by his intention and remember asking him if he can coach other hubbies to be as thoughtful.
But I digress…three years later, they now have added an adorable 9-month-old son named Evan which was supposed to be the focus of our shoot. Both he and big sis Caroline (named after my home state of North Carolina, where Tim and Suzy met) were fantastic for the camera and I feel so lucky to have captured this time for the family.

I met Valerie and her sidekick Gustav (aka Goose, Gus, adorable-awesome-easy doggy) at Golden Gate Park to get Valerie some fresh headshots for her graphic design company, Goose Dog Design. I requested that she bring Gus with her and he was awesome the entire time. Turns out, he has a thing for older dogs so our biggest competition were other K-9s prancing through the park, but it was hilarious to watch his attention go-go-go!

Danielle and I had our first kiddos around the same time. Cooper is now 3 1/2 and is ready to become a big brother any day now! I am thrilled and honored to be able to capture their First Year for them, starting with a family maternity shoot at Land’s End and China Beach!
Congratulations, Danielle, Dave + Cooper…I can’t wait to meet Baby Girl in a week!
I had the pleasure of doing a 1:1 Mentoring Session with Aliki Joannides from Alaska yesterday!! She wanted to work on some newborn techniques together, and we were fortunate to have Daniel + Sarah come up from San Jose with their adorable 8-day-old, Charlotte!
Charlotte is beautiful. Sweet, adorable, itty-bitty…perfect. Aliki and I went through various poses, talked about soothing a baby, discussed newborn posing safety and so much more.
